Claritystamp Challenge – Carol Singing and Christmas Joy – Sample 2

Hello. Have you joined in with the Clarity Challenge yet? If not maybe my second sample will help inspire you.

This sample has the theme of Carol Singing and uses the Jayne Nestorenko Holly and the Ivy stamp set.

I haven’t taken quite as many photos as I did with the other sample though I’m sure they’ll help explain the steps I’ve taken.

Cut a piece of stencil card to 14.5 cm by 14.4 cm. Cover with talcum powder and stamp the main image from Jayne’s the Holly and the Ivy stamp set in the top left corner using black Versafine ink. Cover with clear embossing powder. Stamp the Carol Singers into the bottom right hand corner using the black ink and cover with clear embossing powder. Stamp the sentiment and the musical notes in the same way, being careful not to touch the other images. Heat from beneath the card.

Add colour to the main stamp. I decided to get my Promarkers out – haven’t used them in a while. Don’t forget the lantern.

I added depth to the holly leaves using a green Faber Castell pencil.

Add a vignette with a dye based ink pad and a Clarity stencil brush, and then edge the card using a black Sharpie pen.

I then created my own coloured layer using Distress Ink – Festive Berries and an Artistry blending tool. Adhere the image to the coloured card and then add to a 14.8 x 14.8 card base. (Though if I’m being picky it’s actually 14.8 cm x 14.9 cm.)

Once the image was on the card base I added glue to the holly leaves and the top of the fir cones and added DecoArt Glamour Dust. Rangers Glossy Accents were added to the berries. Here’s a close up for you.

Thanks for stopping by. I, like the rest of the DT, look forward to seeing your entries for the challenge, and I hope this helps with your ideas.

Hi Angela, lovely card, vey traditional but crisp and fresh too. I have so many things to finish for Christmas, have over-committed as usual! So haven’t thought about the challenge yet, hopefully I’ll have time after Christmas!
