Have you joined in with the Clarity Challenge this month? If not maybe the cards you’ll see throughout the month will inspire you. More information and inspiration can be found here.
As you know the challenge this month is to choose a topic from the past. This time I’ve chosen Stencils from October 2015:
I was worked on this piece in stages and there are a lack of step by step photos. I’m sorry about that.
Firstly, on a piece of stencil card, I layered the torn edge stencil from the Framer Shapes Stencil Set 2 and the Birch Trees stencil. I added some torn paper underneath the stencils to create hills.
Using Clarity stencil brushes I added Bundled Sage Distress Ink for the hills. To create a kind of misty sky I used Pumice Stone and then a little Salty Ocean, as though the blue sky was slowly being exposed.
Once complete I used some of the animals from the Woodland Animals stamp set and the birds from the Birdhouse Garden stamp set.
I played with the layout on some copy paper first. As you can see from the photo once the stamping was done I added the fine line around the edge. Using three shades of grey pencils I added some shadow to the edge of the background. Using the mid grey colour I added some shadow to the birch trees.
Bundled Sage was used around the edge of the card to create a vignette, and a black edge added with a Sharpie pen. Bakers twine was added to the bottom left and top right corners. The image was layered onto green card and then onto a card base. A little charm was tied at the top to finish.
I hope this has given you an idea with which you can join the challenge. Remember you could win a £50 Clarity voucher.
Thanks for visiting.
