Hello and welcome to the first challenge I’ve done for over a year. For various reasons it wasn’t possible to join in with any last year and I’m hoping that this is the first of many.

Despite my good intentions I always find myself making Christmas cards in November. This year I thought I’d make an early start and one way is to join in with 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

I missed the first week and this week the theme is using the colours – red, brown and cream. More details can be found here – http://52cct.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/january-colours.html.

I’ve kept it simple using the new design stamp club stamp – Robin and the Pine Needle stencil from Claritystamp.

I stamped the robin using sepia Versafine ink, on to  very vanilla card from Stampin’ up! The pine needles were added using a selection of Distress Inks -festive berry, vintage photo and tea dye.

The robin was coloured using a selection of Faber Castel pencils.

The light had changed by the time I took this photo!

The following morning I added some Glamour Dust to the pine needles. As well as adding sparkle to the robin’s breast using Crafter’s Companion clear sparkle pen. Here’s a close up.

The finished image was layered onto red and brown American Crafts paper from my stash before being added to an A6 card blank

Thank you for taking a look. Good luck to everyone taking part.
